PPF Testing Checklist Before Application

1. Visual Inspection

  • Check for bubbles, dust, or wrinkles on the film roll

  • Inspect the film for clarity – no yellow tint or haze

  • Verify uniform thickness (especially for 200 micron)

2. Adhesive Test

  • Cut a small piece and apply on a test surface (metal/glass)

  • Check for strong adhesion without glue marks

  • Make sure it’s removable without residue

3. Stretch & Flexibility Test

  • Lightly stretch a piece by hand

  • Ensure it returns to shape without tearing

  • Test around curves or corners to check conformability

4. Self-Healing Test

  • Lightly scratch the surface with a soft brush or key

  • Apply heat (hot water or heat gun) – scratches should disappear

  • Confirms TPU material and top coat quality

5. Hydrophobic Test

  • Spray water over the surface

  • Look for beading or rolling off effect – confirms hydrophobic layer

6. UV Resistance (Basic Test)

  • Leave a small piece under sunlight for a few hours

  • Should not yellow or become brittle

  • For lab-grade: Use UV testing lamps (optional)

7. Compatibility Test

  • Use the slip and tack solutions

  • Ensure the film responds well during installation (not overly sticky or stiff)
